This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia. They support children’s wellbeing, and development in the context of an approved learning framework. Educators use a range of well-developed skills and knowledge using discretion and judgment when carrying out their work in the context of established policies and procedures. They may work independently or under the guidance of others, though in some contexts that guidance may not be on-site. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
Classes are rostered for 3 days per week + Self-study component.
Full Time studies requires students to attend a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
^ Note: Course duration does not include any holidays, where your schedule includes a term break/holiday, this time will be added to your overall course duration.
*The Materials Fee covers equipment and resources used in the delivery of your course at Stanley College.

Recognition is available (on application) to students with prior skills, experience, knowledge or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training, in a related area. Recognition may reduce the duration of your studies.

During Work-Based Training, you will be able to practice your skills and knowledge in real workplace settings. This will assist you to be job-ready> at graduation. Stanley College has entered into Work-Based Training agreements with a number of employers.
All Work-Based Training are organised by Stanley College’s Employment Liaison Team in consultation with students.

*Please note – To be employed in the Early Childhood Education industry, a National Police Clearance (NPC) is not required.
However, some Work-Based Training employers may require that you obtain one prior to commencing your Work-Based Training. National Police Certificate (NPC) contains a list of a person’s disclosable court outcomes and pending charges from all Australian police jurisdictions. This includes traffic and non-police prosecuted matters. Where a student has ‘disclosable outcomes or pending charges’ then this may impact Stanley College being able to successfully place them with a Work-Based Training Host Employer, which may impact students being able to successfully complete their studies.

On completion of the CHC30125 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care course, students may pursue a CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care at Stanley College or other CRICOS registered training organisations.
