UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE INTERNSHIPS

THE WIL PLACEMENT PROCESS
Every placement follows a structured framework designed to maximise learning outcomes and organisational benefit:
1. Pre-placement Preparation
Students fulfil all academic and administrative prerequisites. Stanley College collaborates with host organisations to establish clear expectations and ensure alignment with program learning objectives.
2. Strategic Matching
The WIL team carefully matches students with approved industry partners based on disciplinary relevance, learning goals, and organisational capacity to provide appropriate supervision and developmental opportunities.
3. Formalisation of Agreement
A comprehensive WIL Agreement is established between Stanley College, the student, and the host organisation, articulating learning objectives, supervision arrangements, workplace responsibilities, and assessment criteria.
4. Workplace Induction
Students complete a formal orientation program at the host site, covering organisational procedures, workplace health and safety protocols, and operational expectations prior to commencing substantive activities.
5. Supervised Practice and Application
Throughout the placement, students undertake workplace tasks under the mentorship of an appointed Workplace Supervisor, with ongoing academic support provided by a Stanley College WIL Coordinator.
6. Assessment and Professional Reflection
Students complete reflective assessments examining their professional development, while workplace supervisors provide formal feedback that contributes to final unit outcomes and validates professional competency growth.
For comprehensive information regarding roles, responsibilities, and placement protocols, refer to Stanley College’s WIL Procedure.
Placement availability is subject to organisational capacity.
